This unit was an interesting one for me since I had to learn more about Okinawa, its heritage and culture.
As part of the Sorting Out stage, students worked in groups to categorize old and new inventions and discussed their differences.
Students presented in class their personal artifact.
The whole class visited Okinawa Museum where students learned about Okinawan history and culture.
Reflection:
isiting the museum was memorable for me. Students enjoyed the first-hand experience of wearing hats and other protective gear that was used by Okinawans decades ago.
